One of Laurance Rockefeller’s original ‘Rock Resorts’ called Caribbean Consulting to help increase occupancy when a plan to ‘flag’ one of St. Croix’s legendary hotels was delayed half-way through the upgrade/renovation process.  Caribbean Consulting told a ‘tale of two hotels’ to travel consumers and positioned the lack of internet connections and cell phone reception as an asset for target markets that valued romance, time to ‘disconnect’, quality time with family and the charm of the ‘classic Caribbean’.  The Director of Sales and Marketing reported that occupancy, on-site revenue and customer satisfaction ‘exceeded all expectations’ as the resort completed refinancing, renovations and branding as the Renaissance St. Croix Carambola Beach Resort & Spa.
